In 2005, with the photo series “In foreign gardens”, I started to become interested in these spaces, and extended the work to include a look at the urban landscape, city squares with greenery, hybrid spaces, gardens and parks at various locations and in various cities (Barcelona, Stuttgart, Cairo, Rome). Parks, gardens and urban green spaces are a reflection of our identity and culture. In addition to change and destruction, they demonstrate longings and dreams, visions that have become reality. Furthermore, my studies focused on the relationship between nature and humankind and aimed to translate this through the medium of drawing. References to this can be found in the titles of the large-format drawing “Out of Balance” (2008) or “Desire for Nature – Destroying” (2009).
