De-Re-construction I

The exhibition De-Re-constructions was developed in the course of a working process following the realisation of the book project MYCAIRO by Barbara Armbruster and Hala Elkoussy (Cairo). Deconstruction of what has been created and reconstruction, the dialogue with other cultures, their spaces and structures was the content. Barbara Armbruster again took up the examination of colour and light, as in the watercolours of 2012 and 2013, the farewell phase of the living and working space, Stuttgart – Cairo. The paintings, which refer to colour samples, are reduced to abstract formal elements, which she combines with photography and text elements. In terms of content, de-re-constructions fits into the new concept of Galerie Vayhinger in Singen to deal with different cultures and their artistic positions and their discourse. (Text: BA)
